Privacy Policy
Plain-language version: we run Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel on this site so we can see what's working. If you live in California, you have rights about that — including the right to opt out. Details below.
Who we are
This site, regissocialmedia.com, is operated by Regis Social Media, a sole-proprietor consulting practice owned by Justin Regis, based in Los Angeles, California. We're a fractional growth partner for direct-to-consumer brands running on Meta. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site or fill out a form, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Questions? Email [email protected].
Information we collect
We collect a small number of categories of personal information, all of it to run and improve a small consulting website.
Identifiers and contact information
When you submit the Creative Capacity Audit form (or any other contact form on the site), we collect the information you provide: your name, email address, business name, and the self-reported metrics or notes you choose to share. We use this to evaluate fit and reply to you.
Internet and device activity
Like most websites, we automatically collect basic technical information when you visit: IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, the pages you view, and approximate location derived from IP. This is collected via our analytics tools (below) and through standard server / CDN logs maintained by Cloudflare.
Commercial information
If you become a client, we'll keep records related to that engagement (proposals, invoices, account access we've been granted, work product). That information is not collected through this website — it's collected through normal business correspondence — but California law requires us to mention it.
Cookies and tracking technologies
We use third-party tracking technologies on this site.
Cloudflare, which serves and protects this site, also sets basic security and performance cookies. We don't use a tag manager or load other trackers beyond what's disclosed in this policy.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through settings. Doing so will not break the site. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-Out Add-On, and adjust Meta ad preferences in your Facebook Ad Settings.
How we use your information
- Service delivery. Replying to inquiries, evaluating fit, and providing consulting services to clients we've taken on.
- Communication. Following up on form submissions, sending occasional updates if you've asked for them, and answering email.
- Analytics. Understanding which pages and case studies are useful, where visitors come from, and how the site is performing.
- Marketing. Measuring whether Meta ads are working, and showing remarketing ads to people who've visited the site.
- Legal and security. Protecting the site against abuse, complying with applicable law, and exercising legal rights.
Who we share information with
We don't sell personal information in the everyday sense of the word. Under California's broad definition, however, using the Meta Pixel for cross-context behavioral advertising counts as "sharing." Here's the full list of categories of third parties that receive information through this site:
- Analytics providers — Google (Google Analytics 4).
- Advertising platforms — Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook / Instagram, via the Meta Pixel).
- Hosting and infrastructure — Cloudflare (hosting, CDN, security).
- Email and form handling — the email and CRM tools we use to receive and reply to inquiries.
- Professional advisors — accountants, lawyers, and similar service providers, only as needed.
- Legal authorities — if required by law, subpoena, or to protect rights and safety.
We don't sell or share information with anyone else, and we don't trade your data for money.
Your California privacy rights
If you're a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), gives you the following rights:
- Right to know what personal information we've collected about you, where we got it, and who we've shared it with.
- Right to delete personal information we hold about you, with some legal exceptions (for example, records we need to keep for tax or contract reasons).
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising — this is what the Meta Pixel does. See the dedicated Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page.
- Right to non-discrimination — we won't deny you service or charge you differently for exercising these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] with a short description of what you'd like. We may need to verify your identity (usually by confirming you control the email address tied to a request or submission). You can also have an authorized agent submit a request on your behalf; we'll need written proof of that authorization.
We'll confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond substantively within 45 days, as required by law.
Data retention
We hold form submissions and email correspondence for as long as is reasonably useful for the inquiry or engagement, and then for record-keeping purposes thereafter. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics 4's default retention (14 months at the time of writing). You can request earlier deletion at any time.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe we have, please contact us and we'll delete it.
Visitors outside the United States
We're based in California and primarily serve clients in the US, Canada, and Mexico. If you access the site from elsewhere, your information will be processed in the United States. We are not currently structured to comply with the EU's GDPR or the UK's UK-GDPR — if you're an EU or UK resident and you'd prefer we delete any information about you, just email us.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, post a notice on the site. Continued use of the site after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
